Program Background

MacRae Institute of International Management

The McRae Institute of International Management at Capilano College has a rich history of developing international management talent. With over fifteen years of experience, the Institute's innovative programs—the Asia Pacific Management Cooperative Program (APMCP) and the Latin American Management Program (LAMP)—have produced proven leaders.

The programs combine context/language education with management curriculum and a one-year work internship, equipping graduates with the skills and "big picture awareness" to thrive in diverse and rapidly evolving markets. The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade has recognized the continued success of the Institute.

International Management Graduate Diploma (INMA)

The International Management Graduate Diploma is a one-year program designed for students with a business undergraduate degree who wish to pursue careers in companies where international activities play an important role. The program provides valuable high-level business skills beneficial to an international career in any industry or sector.

Students complete their first term at Capilano University, followed by a study abroad term at the University of Hertfordshire in England, with a final term for dissertation or integrated research project. Graduates earn both an International Management graduate diploma and a Master in Science, International Business (M.Sc.) from Hertfordshire.

Skills developed include international business strategy, international finance, information management, working with multicultural teams, and cultural/socio-economic awareness in global business operations.
